Join Alan & Bev Miller on a scenic drive to the Wehrloom Honey and Mead Taproom in Robbinsville where we will enjoy a special half-price tasting of five varieties of honey mead (alcoholic beverage made from fermented honey). In addition to mead for sale, the shop also has over a dozen flavors of honey, candles, lotions, soaps and lip balm made from their local Smoky Mountain honey. The owners will also be on-hand to provide a tour of their local honeybee operation where they harvest and infuse the honey and brew the mead.
Getting to Wehrloom will also be part of our adventure. We will depart Fontana at 9:45AM from the parking lot of the General Store. We will be going over the mountians south of Fontana Village on Yellow Creek Road passing through the tiny village of Santeetlah with a photo stop at Santeetlah Dam.
After our tour and tasting at Wehrloom, we will enjoy lunch under their new covered patio. You can order lunch when we arrive, and it will be ready after the tour. Of course, you can order a glass of mead that you picked out as your favorite from the tasting to enjoy with your lunch.
