Pay for your own lunch.Thanks for joining me on this fun drive on the Hellbender and Moonshiner 28 for a fabulous lunch at Caffe Rel in Franklin, NC. Caffe Rel is quickly becoming a destination restaurant for Franklin and many nearby cities. Nestled in the end of a gas station, this place is a real surprise with interesting decor and excellent food prepared from a diverse menu. This will be a spirited drive and we will depart from the General Store at Fontana Village at 11:30 AM. Please bring radios tuned to channel 7 and sub-channel 21 so we can communicate. Motoring time to Caffe Rel is approximately 1.5 hours.
Times are approximate and we will make changes on-the-fly as needed. Caffe Rel does not take reservations, so we may have to wait on arrival for everyone to be seated. We are intentionally arriving late to avoid some of the lunch rush.
SPECIAL NOTE - Caffe Rel is CASH ONLY and does not accept credit cards, so please make sure you are prepared to pay with cash.
We will practice MINI Ohana on this trip (Ohana means family, and family means no one gets left behind or forgotten). Should you decide to stay in Franklin or go elsewhere after lunch, please let me know so I will not be looking for you for our return trip to Fontana.
